The first volume of The Life and Times of the Comox Valley book covered the valley’s prehistory and history. The information presented was current up to 1997, its year of publication. Following its appearance, which was well-received, the author set out to learn more about the place. Extensive research was conducted, adding to the knowledge acquired for the purposes of sharing this with readers.
 
A limited number of copies are still available. They were discovered in a trunk hidden away and were the overrun from the original order.
