The Gardens of Venus is a tale of humankind's survival after leaving Earth. After the big blue planet was zinged by an asteroid, volcanoes began spewing gas into the atmosphere. Much of the planet froze. Retreating to underground shelters, governments decided the only solution was to take to the heavens. But not all wanted to go. Leavers lined up to secure places, remainers waved them off. In 2066, the time to choose had come to an end.

Mars and Venus were favoured for their conditions and location to a home past. Those off to the latter found themselves in bubbles floating in the atmosphere of Venus, close to the sun.

The mission was set. One day, the red planet would cool but help was needed to engineer such a dramatic change. Seeds were sown in efforts to have them mutate enough to survive and produce an atmosphere needed to create a permanent home. Humans knew full well massive climate change was not only possible, but doable.

This story follows the lives of typical families through many of the challenges faced and everyday life. What had really changed? Not only would Vesuvians have to adapt to the conditions, lifeforms were different. Genderless beings were being born with traits that triggered angry attitudes from those with a mind for the past. Competition for scarce resources created divisions amongst families Would life ever be the same? Look to the garden to learn the truth and secrets buried deep. Only time will tell.
